Send me Your cloths, everybody’s doing it. - August 28, 2008
Hi Chimps and Chimpetts,
I went shopping the other day for a pair of jeans. Buying some cloths is about the only time you’ll find bubbles in a mall. Not that I particularly hate them, but growing up in Southern California tainted my image of malls.
I went to a local mall hoping to get my hands on some Levi’s and a shirt. I found the jeans. A shirt, on the other hand, was not purchased. I went from store to store to store. Each store had some stupid preppy look, or some wannabe gansta look. I even saw a bad drawing of Eazy-E on a T-shirt. Come on people. That is so not bubbles.
Which brings me to…I will wear your cloths in my pictures and shows. If I really like you I will promote your band or clothing lines. So designers, bands, Iron-on makers, I don’t care, send me your cloths. Especially cool T’s.
For example look at the featured picture on the menu to your right. It’s a picture of some cool prizes I won for doing a remix. Now I rock the 2ndrate T on stage!
If you’re interested email me bubbles@bubblesmusic.net and I’ll tell you where to send these items of clothing and I will send you some music.
Peace,
bubbles
A question. - August 25, 2008
Hi chimps,
I don't buy as much music as I used to. Times are hard, and since I'm low budget I had to chill on the purchases. How about you? Do you buy lees music than you used to? Leave your thoughts on the Holla page. Come on y'all, Holla!

quick news - August 14, 2008
Hi folks,
I am thinking of doing a state of the bubbles address. I do believe I have some things to say. But then again, who doesn’t.
For now, I have a remix up on my music page. It is of the classic 2nd Rate track “Time to Rock”. To listen to the others check
www.The2ndrate.com and peep it yo.
Besides that lots of good things are going on in the music world of bubbles, but one thing I have learned over the years is not to divulge to much too soon.
More to Come,

Art plus bubbles equals soul. - July 5, 2008
Art plus bubbles equals soul.
I will be Dj'ing at an art opening tonight called "The Trinity" that will include three talented artists (Klutch, Dan Ness and Jeremy Okai Davis) hanging their wonderful paintings, along with music brought to you by bubbles, Prophetnoise, and a special guest DJ.
I will be spinning classic R&B/soul, dub and maybe even some dub electronique and dub step. I'm not sure how I'll pull it off, but rest assured, I will.
The event is at the Edge of Belmont (the old Salvador Molly's in SE Portland behind the Zupans), a restaurant/bar right off of SE Belmont and 30th.

Who's Your End.User? - June 19, 2008
Howdy folks,
Bubbles here. There’s a show that I highly endorse this sat. Check this out…
End.User is an electronic musician with a deep tribal sound. Releasing his debut record on Ohm Resistance, this machine manipulator creates textures of drum and bass with dub step, breakcore, ambient and well basically everything. End.User has recently released "Left". Read more about it at the End.User website.
The show is a send of for the Digital Organics project: Manifestation Facilitator this project includes a 3d art installation, music, and visuals to facilitate a new show experience. A giant jellyfish will captivate you while the bass hits heavy in your chest. Lights and projections will entice your opticals to join in the whole. This will not be your regular show.
This a jump off to the Manifestation Facilitator showing at Emrg+N+See which will be even more involved and massive.
The new venue "The Station" is a wonderful event space tucked in NE Mississippi. It is an off shoot of the highly successful "On Air".
Who: End.User
w/ Ryan Organ
Penpoint Red
& Mike Jedlicka
Art by Ana Rugani
When: June 21, 9:00 PM
Where: The Station

ILike Funk. - May 20, 2008
I have a huge music collection. Much of that is funk music, maybe 17%, I don’t know. It’s the funn-est shit on earth. Nothings better that busting a DJ set of all old school super funky cuts. Funk is guaranteed to make the ladies dance. And if the ladies dance, so does everyone else. And when everyone is having a good time, I’m having a good time. If you’re curious what else I like in music you should check me out on
www.Ilike.com.
www.Ilike.com is a website that works with your Itunes to let your friends see what you listen to and to get free music based on the kinds of tracks you like the most. For instance I like Bootsy Collins, so when I listen to a bootsy tack on my Itunes I’ll say to add the song. My friends on Ilike, and Myspace, and Facebook, can all see the songs I add. Then they are like “man you are cool bubbles, we like the same stuff”. Then I say “thanks!”

Modern Art? - April 18, 2008
Yesterday I watched a movie called “My Kid Could Paint That” (
http://www.sonyclassics.com/mykidcouldpaintthat/ ). The movie is based on a four year old painter in the modern art world (think Pollock) and her and her family’s success; then the consequent media treatment.
I’m not sure what to think about it. On the one hand I think the paintings were good. On the other, why do some artists, musicians included, get paid thousands of dollars and others get paid crap for similar work.
The whole art/music scene is something of a clusterfuck. None of it makes sense. Don’t people understand I need to eat?
Oh well. Check out the new Badu at
http://www.erykahbadu.com/ . I personally endorse this tight album. I bought her album, and she doesn’t even need to buy mine which is available at
www.cdbaby.com/cd/bubbles2 .

Wack graffiti artists… - March 16, 2008
OK, today I saw a huge tag right over a mural that preschoolers painted on the side of their school. That’s wack. Not only that, the tag sucked. Mad drips, piss poor fill in, two shitty colors, and no style. I got absolutely nothing against graf artists, but a real artist would skip over the school and tag train.

Shape my next album. - March 12, 2008
Hi folks,
I am now working on my next major release. Now you have a chance to shape someone’s music, mainly mine. My next album is a collection of electronic versions of jazz standards and classic cool jazz songs. So far I have chosen “Alone Together”, “The Haitian Fight Song”, and “Then There was You” featuring Donny B up on production and other nifty instruments.
Now you choose. You tell me what your favorite jazz tune is and blam…on the cd, maybe.
Ohh, and don’t forget to check out Howie Loot$ and the best website in a long time, put together by someone who has one of the best blogs in town.

Hope to hear from you soon. You can leave your comments on my holla page. Just holla.

Question about Life... - February 19, 2008
I posted this question on my myspace page… What does it take to be happy, money or passion? I love art and music, but I could make more money working, and even more on the hustle. So the scenario is be poor doing what I love or have money to do the things I’ve always like sky dive and take care of my Family. Discuss…
